Looks like a string.  First character is length, followed by
ascii-encoded values.

Are you certain you are getting the correct instance?  Make certain
snmpget returns the right value.

Is the value returned by snmpwalk or snmpget an integer32 or integer64?.
snmpget/snmpwalk will tell you....
