Hi Steve
I am using the latest version mrtg, on fedora 10. I installed it as per the documentation from Tobi's mrtg site 1st installed gd, libpng, zlib it didn't ask for rrd tool I think I wasn't clear in what I asked you for. The legend "text" is OK it's the numbers against the Y scale I want to divide by 10 whilst leaving the graphing as it is The graphing is going from 0-160 but as per the MAXBytes[SNR]: 160 but as it's a dB graph I want the Y scale values 0.0, 40.0 ,80.0, 120.0,and 160.0 to read 0.0, 4.0, 8.0, 12.0, and 16.0 Whilst not touch the way the graph is working So a value of 160 will still be at the top of the graph and the text at the left of the graph says its 16.0 due to this being in dB's Regards Nick From: Steve Shipway [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, August 28, 2010 3:16 To: Nick Price; [email protected] Subject: RE: [mrtg] FW: FW: Graph values What software are you using -- IE, native MRTG, or MRTG/RRD/Routers2, or MRTG/RRD/14all, etc etc. This will make a differrence. Also, what version of MRTG, Routers2, 14all etc. as you may have an older (buggy) version. To set the Y-Axis legend you just use YLegend[SNR]: Steve Steve Shipway University of Auckland ITS UNIX Systems Design Lead [email protected] Ph: +64 9 373 7599 ext 86487 _____ From: [email protected] [[email protected]] on behalf of Nick Price [[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, 28 August 2010 10:27 a.m. To: [email protected] Subject: [mrtg] FW: FW: Graph values Thanks Steve It worked for the values under the graph. But it hasn't changed the Y label I have MAXBytes [SNR]: 160 So it shows the label a 0-160 I want the graphing to stay as it is but only the label to be 0 - 16 because its dB's Cheers Nick From: Steve Shipway [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, August 27, 2010 22:25 To: Nick Price; [email protected] Subject: RE: [mrtg] FW: Graph values Factor[SNR]: 0.1 Note I think this may only work if you're using RRDTool as the backend as MRTG doesnt like decimals. Factor[] differs from '* 0.1' on the Target line because a '* 0.1' on the Target line divides by tem BEFORE storing the data in the RRD, a Factor[]:0.1 will divide by ten at display time. Thus, you do not need to modify your MaxBytes if you are using Factor[] but you do if you are using '* 0.1' on the Target line.
