Others will likely know more, but my personal experience with Airport Extreme is the external interface is #2, mgi1. See snmpwalk below. Also, you may need to configure the community string in the device with the Airport utility.
** ffe...@a8n:/etc/cron.daily$ snmpwalk -v2c -c xxxx <Airport Express address> interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifDescr IF-MIB::ifDescr.1 = STRING: mgi0 IF-MIB::ifDescr.2 = STRING: mgi1 IF-MIB::ifDescr.3 = STRING: mv0 IF-MIB::ifDescr.4 = STRING: mv1 IF-MIB::ifDescr.5 = STRING: lo0 IF-MIB::ifDescr.6 = STRING: bridge0 -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Michael Curtis Sent: Tuesday, October 05, 2010 5:29 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [mrtg] Monitoring the correct interface Hi, I have MRTG setup and running well on my Mac. What I really want to do is see how much traffic is coming and going to the Internet. I am monitoring my Apple Airport Extreme base station and Zyxel P660WHP-D1. I could get the answer from either of these two devices. Obviously the Zyxel would be the best place, but all traffic to the Internet has to go through the base station to get to the Zyxel. Does anyone know how I can do this? Best wishes Michael ***************************************************** This E-Mail has been scanned by Sophos Anti-Virus ***************************************************** _______________________________________________ mrtg mailing list [email protected] https://lists.oetiker.ch/cgi-bin/listinfo/mrtg _______________________________________________ mrtg mailing list [email protected] https://lists.oetiker.ch/cgi-bin/listinfo/mrtg
