It is not clear to me what you mean. "The mrtg program stopping every few days" and "We have setup on our cronjob". If you run mrtg with cron, then the mrtg program stops every 5 minutes, and is started again by cron. Do you have a problem with mrtg or with cron? What does your cron log tell you? Or is the problem that mrtg does NOT stop anymore (hangs), so that further iterations of mrtg fail because there still is a lock?
