Hi Brock,

Thanks for your interest. It's easier for a committer to roll the release due 
to infra@ issues and 
CLA issues for distributing the bits. 

Hopefully a committer will have time to push a 0.5.0 release in the 
next few weeks. If I don't see any chatter by then I'll pipe back up.
