Joe-

You're mixing apples and oranges. The Month function returns an integer: 1
- 12. If you want the month name, you must use the Format function.

Format([DOI], "mmmm")

or

Format([DOI], "mmm")

The first displays the full name, as in "January".

The second displays the month abbreviation, as in "Jan".

If you want to filter on the month number, apply the filter to the
expression Month([DOI]). You can put both expressions in the same query as
long as you assign a different name to each output field.

Subject: [ms_access] ?? on Month Description ??

Hi,

Same query as last question.
But trying to display month description.
I put a text box on the report with the contro source being
the Month:Month([DOI]) from the query where DOI is a date
I put mmmm if the format of the texbox.
I run the report for January, putting in a 1,
But get December as the month?
I also tried to display Month(DOI]) on the report and get 1

Thanks
Joe
