As for the language to use: VBA is what is used inside of Access. Others use VB to handle the forms / reports and just let Access contain the data. Still others use SQL to store the data and have Access to contain the forms and reports. In other words, depending on your needs Access should be structured differently to ensure that you get the necessary utilization. (I have both stand alone databases (Access only) and also databases which use both Access and SQL together.
