Hi all,
We run an ebay business with the following (relevant) tables in our
database:
tblListings (ListingEndDate, EbayItemNo)
tblSales (SaleDate, EbayItemNo)
tblBuyers (BuyerUsername)
Our managers need an interface where they can search for all
listings that have ended between a given date range, e.g:
1/03/2006 and 30/03/2006
...to then display, in datasheet format, a list of all listings,
including tblListings.EbayItemNo and fields for tblSales.SaleDate
and tblBuyers.BuyerUsername, that have ended between those dates.
Below this, there needs to be a subform whose primary key,
tblBuyers.BuyerUsername, links to the same field in the query
results. The idea behind this is that when the managers enter the
BuyerUsername into the query result form, a new record is
automatically created in the Buyer subform, containing this value.
The only catch here is that, if the database already contains a
Buyer record with that username, it should not create a new record,
but retrieve the existing record, for that buyer.
Consequently, the managers would be able to enter different sale
data - e.g FinalSalePrice, GSTAmt, BuyerAddress and so forth, and
then perform various functions, including Invoice Buyer, Retrieve
Past Buyer Sales, and so forth.
If somebody could provide the query coding necessary to achieve
this, that would be fantastic. I have done reasonably complex
databases before but I am a little rusty and cannot think as
laterally as I used to!
