Not too sure of the syntax, but I think you need to look at the SQL command ALIAS. If you are creating an update query, switcht e QBE layout view to SQL. This is what is really running behind the front visual interface of Access. Check out the SQL commands in the help files. Hope this shows the way, if indeed not the actual answer....
