Mo:

SELECT [prt#], Count([prt#]) As CountOfPrt, Sum([qty sold]) As SumOfSold
FROM sales_tbl
GROUP BY [prt#]

You can build that query by starting a new query on your table.  Choose
Totals from the View menu.  Drag and drop the prt# field twice and the qty
sold field once.  Under the second prt# field choose Count on the Totals
line, and under the qty sold field, choose Sum.

Just your basic Totals or aggregate query.

Subject: [ms_access] Qry help needed for finding COUNT . Please?

I have a table (sales_tbl) in which there are 3 columns F1 (prt#) F2
(Brand) and F3 (qty sold).
What I'm trying to find is a Count of entries for each part# (F1), as
well as the total Sum of the qty sold (F3).

Is there a specific wizard I should use? Or, does somebody know the SQL
for this?

Thanks-a-bunch,
-Mo
