Once the form is open, Access 'remembers' the last field that had the focus in the subform. If the user goes to a new row in the outer form, enters a record, and then tabs forward, when the cursor moves into the subform, it'll fall on the control that had the focus for the last outer record - not necessarily the "first" control in the tab order. You could perhaps use the Enter event of the subform control on the outer form to always set the focus to the "first" control in the subform. And frankly, I just finished testing with multiple users whereby everyone gets different results as to where the tab key puts you in the subform. --- In [EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:ms_access%40yahoogroups.com> ps.com, "John Viescas" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Doreen- > > Do you have any code in the form that's in the subform control? > > John Viescas, author > Building Microsoft Access Applications > Microsoft Office Access 2003 Inside Out > Running Microsoft Access 2000 > SQL Queries for Mere Mortals > http://www.viescas. <http://www.viescas.com/> com/ > (Paris, France) > For the inside scoop on Access 2007, see: > http://blogs. <http://blogs.msdn.com/access/> msdn.com/access/ > > _____ > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:ms_access%40yahoogroups.com> ps.com [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:ms_access%40yahoogroups.com> ps.com] On Behalf > Of rokkeee > Sent: Friday, June 16, 2006 6:39 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:ms_access%40yahoogroups.com> ps.com > Subject: [ms_access] subform tabbing problem > > > > I have a NewCustomer form with a subform where records are entered > directly into a table.
