Najm,
You can quickly do this using Terry's exellent answer or if you're going
to do it on many reports and forms, I set it up like this ...
- Create a new Form called [frmGetDates]
- Create two unbound controls on it called [dteFrom] and [dteTo]
- Add an "OK" Commmand Button to the form
- Code behind the button to
- make frmGetDates invisible (but still open)
- Open the Report
- Use the criteria for opening the form as (aircode)
WHERE [MyDateField] Between Forms![frmGetDates]![dteFrom] and
Forms![frmGetDates]![dteTo]
Once you have this form set up, you can use it all the time. You can
even use a tabbed form combo box under the command button to select from
your list of reports of forms if you want to get that fancy.
I tend not to set the criteria under the command button but rather in
the query for the form or report which is the same as what Terry was
suggesting except that it looks at the form rather than asks you to
input them in a dialog box. In the Query you put
>=Forms![frmGetDates]![dteFrom] and <=Forms![frmGetDates]![dteTo]
