[ms_access] Entering a value into a field with a function

I have a function, NextCustomerId(),that adds 1 to the last customer 
number in my "Customer" table. It works. Debug.Print displays the 
number that I want. I want to make this number the value in my 
"NewCustomer" form "Customer Number" field. How do I do this?
