There are many ways. One of the simplest is to use a query as the recordsource 
of the document. Then in the criteria section of the query under the order 
number put this [Please enter an order number]

You must include the brackets. This will prompt the user and then filter your 
report.

I am trying to creat a report that pulls information based on input 
from the user. I want them to be prompted to enter a purchase order 
number that have a report generated that show all data from a table for 
that PO number. I know this should be smiple but I'm just not getting
