If it contains numeric characters, can you convert it into a number? There
are functions that do this. For example:

If ISNUMERIC(frmBuildings.cboBuildingID) then frmEvent.txtBuildingID =
CDBL(frmBuildings.cboBuildingID) ' (I typed the functions in upper case
for clarity)

Also, you can re-use the Event form as a subform in more than one parent
form. Run the subform wizard, and instead of choosing a table or query as
your source, select the existing Events form.

Subject: [AccessDevelopers] Combo Box Issue-PLEASE HELP

I have 2 tables one "Event" and "Building" (where the event could take
place) I have in my form a combo box displaying my table list of
Buildings. My Building table has a unique id for every building. I
need my combo box in my form to when one is selected to return the
unique id either into the same field or into my designated
field "building id" in my Event table. I do not want to use a subform
as the Event form is already a subform of another table. I can't put
it into the same field as my building are a string and the unique id is
a number. Please Help!
