If you are sorting in your Query, then it will truncate to the first 255 characters of your memo field. What most people do to create their report is they create the query and then add the memo field in the record source of the report to get the memo field in there as well. So you would have two queries linked together where the one query does the sorting and the other query has the memo field and id field so you can join them together and use them in your report.
