Hi Faisal Make sure you copy the original database and the ".mdw" file. Don't copy the short-cuts (often with ".lnk" extension). Paste the copied files in the folder of your choice on the target computer. For example if your database name is "Mydatabase.mdb" and workgroup information file is "Mydbsecure.mdw" then create a shortcut of Mydatabase.mdb on the desktop. Right-click on the shortcut and click on Properties. In the Target box type (assuming you are using Access 2003 which is version 11): "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\msaccess.exe" "C:\YourFolder\Mydatabase.mdb" /wrkgrp "C:\YourFolder\Mydbsecure.mdw"
Hope that helps Liveson PS: Access 2007 is version 12 and Access 2002 is version 10 ----- Original Message ----- From: Muhamed Faisal To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, 14 November, 2007 14:06 Subject: Re: [ms_access] user level security wizard Dear Liveson, On securing our data base by using security wizard there are four file is genarating including one shortcut and if i want to open this database we have to open from the shortcut,Now if i copy these four files to onother folder or a another compure it give one error message"can't find the data base"when open the database . in you reply you sujest to join work groupm information file i din't understand this process i think becuse of these only i am failure open the file.please tell me how to join these file Hoping your reply with correct soloution like before Yours Loving Faisal Riyadh ----- Original Message ---- From: L Tumbulu <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, November 14, 2007 10:43:19 AM Subject: Re: [ms_access] user level security wizard Faisal After securing your database with the security wizard there's workgroup information file created with ".mdw" extension. When copying your database include this file as well. On the target computer join this workgroup information file so that every time Access starts it must look for this file.
