Troy All you do is (after opening Microsoft Access 2003), go to the file menu and choose "Get External Data" and of the two choices, choose the top one, Import. You are going to have to choose XLS as the file type and point the file open dialog box to the location of your Excel spreadsheet. Next, Access is going to ask you some stuff about how the file is parsed as it comes in. You will need to choose whether the column headings are in there or not and name the data types. You can also choose which fields are indexed too here. There may be some problems with the import if the Excel file is not very "clean" - in other words, if you have fields which have mixed data (e.g.: text and numbers mixed together) it may not be able to understand this and will put all the unsuccessful rows into a separate table called "Paste Errors" - This is so that you can rationalize this later, if you need to. However, in the vast majority of imports, everything goes smoothly, particularly if the Excel sheet is clean and error-free.) I do a lot of imports and use MS Access to create MS Excel tables frequently, so I have a lot of experience in this! :) When you have your table imported, you can go to work writing "queries", which will create assorted views of the data, according to what you want done with it. (Far and away the easiest way is to use the "Design view" to write queries. But there is also a SQL view, and if you know SQL, you can try working with the data that way. But be warned: this SQL is not quite the same as some other versions of SQL, including MS SQL Server!) Later on, when you have opened your table in "Datasheet" view, you can choose "Export" from the File pull-down menu. Save it as an XLS format (MS Excel) which may seem obvious, but the default is to save it as an MS Access object! There you are. I have taken you through the whole process you asked for. However, I have a feeling that you will have many more questions if you are being truthful when you describe what you want to do...
