I have succeeded in importing data into Access dozens of times. The things I have looked out for was to make sure all the columns were present in the file to be imported, and that the data typing was correct i.e. putting letters in number columns, etc. Most of the time the target table was empty. The really important thing to remember is that the error messages are not always correct. There are more kinds of errors than there are error messages. When it can't figure out what to say it gets a bit random
