I just wanted to mention that I solved the problem anyway, as I think it
really is worth doing. I was pleased with the results, and have updated
pull request https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/pull/262 ready for
merging or for people to try out.

Marc - I would be particularly interested if you were able to try it out.
Are you able to build from github or do you need a binary? (I know you had
problems with your development envirnoment a while ago).
