The ChordName text style is still there internally, but got "hidden" not too long ago, I think by miwarre, and I seem to remember him explaining why. I think it was mainly for consistency with the fact that he did the same for figured bass. However, a few days ago I too thought that it ought to be made visible again. I wanted to try changing the font of rendered chords too. So it's interesting that you want to as well. There's probably a bit setting in the style list initialisation that you could try changing. I'll have a look too.
