Hi,
I would have love to be there :) I attended a couple of MHD. See
http://musescore.org/en/developers-handbook/music-hack-day for a list
What to expect: A lot of fun, smart and passionate people.
More concrete. On Saturday, companies and projects will present API, code,
hardware etc... Then it's coding all night long if you wish, until Sunday
2pm or something and then you present what you did. The presentation is
probably the most important part. Do present, even if it's a small thing,
and make your demo/presentation fun to watch. Some people come with a team.
Others create one there around an hack idea. And others prefer to work
alone. The hack has to be music related but can really be anything around
music.
Regarding your API presentation, here is mine in Barcelona last month

MuseScore.com api documentation is on http://developers.musescore.com I try
to push on the fact that MuseScore.com is full of nice scores, in a lot of
formats, not necessarly "graphical", but also MIDI/MP3 and it provides sync
data between measures and MIDI/MP3.
You know where to find MuseScore code and build documentation. And you know
everything about plugins already. In MuseScore, except the code and the
plugins, I like to hightlight other ways to hack such as the soundfonts,
the music font itself (an handwritten Jazz font...?), and OSC control of
MuseScore.
I will be around on IRC #musescore and #musichackday on freenode.net to
help if necessary.
