I'm running 64-bit Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS. I followed the excellent
instructions to get up and running with a git snapshot that I built with
Qt Creator from Qt 5.1.

There is no sound. Every time FluidSynth tries to play a note, I get:

FluidSynth error: event 0x90 channel 0:
   channel has no preset

My first guess was that no soundfont is loaded, so I tried to remedy
that. View -> Synthesizer pops up a window where the Fluid tab is
selected. There is a large empty rectangle here where I would expect
the soundfont list to reside. I tried using the Add button to select a
soundfont, but all this does is pop up what looks like an empty QDialog
with an empty QGroupBox in it. The Save/Load/Store/Recall/Add buttons
are all behaving like widgets in a mock-up that just haven't been hooked
up yet.

That being the case, I dug around in your archives and with your various
user community resources for some considerable time, looking for clues.
Maybe this was working until you broke it during construction, etc. I
found nothing of interest. Your 2.0 preview articles seem to indicate
that most of the new sound features are already working.

Finally, I haven't found your preferred method for reporting crashes.
I'm using the development version to work on a small tablature project,
and as I work, it pretty much crashes every time I turn around. Most of
these crashes are totally repeatable. Thus far, I've been able to work
around all of them too, by getting at the result a different way.

Anyway, if I could get sound working, that would be a good beginning.
