I wanted to give you all an important update on further improvements on musescore.org. Lets start with two general updates and then the important one.
1/ The Solr based search engine was moved to a more optimised server. The faceted search has not been reinstated completely but this is work in progress. What is important is that searches will go faster and the goal is to make the results better as well. 2/ The migration introduced a couple of bugs in the logging in flow, which are fixed now. If anyone encounters bugs, please let us know For years people have been downloading MuseScore from the SourceForge website. They run a worldwide content delivery network and sell ads to run their business. SourceForge has served us well, until earlier this year. They decided to run ads on the MuseScore download page which confused a lot of our users and tricked them in to downloading unneeded software. We decided we didn't want this anymore. As of today the MuseScore binaries are hosted at the facilities of Oregon State University Open Source Lab, aka OSUOSL <http://osuosl.org/> . As a result the download experience on musescore.org is drastically improved. Take a look for yourself at http://musescore.org and click on the download button.
