Hello, my name is Kane Catt. I'm a Computer Science student at University
of Evansville, and I would like to participate in the GSoC 2014 for mscore.
The idea I'm interested in helping with is making better support for the
import of Guitar Pro files. I have worked in Guitar Pro for several years,
and I also play several instruments including guitar, trumpet, and drums.
I don't have very much knowledge about Qt, but I do know a decent amount of
C++, and I'm very willing to learn what I need to help. I feel like this
idea would be beneficial because a lot of the best guitar tablature that is
posted online is in the Guitar Pro file format, and being able to open
those files with mscore would be highly beneficial to the guitar playing
community.

Subversion Kills Productivity. Get off Subversion & Make the Move to Perforce.
With Perforce, you get hassle-free workflows. Merge that actually works.
Faster operations. Version large binaries. Built-in WAN optimization and the
freedom to use Git, Perforce or both. Make the move to Perforce.
