Hi,
I'm rulojuka and my real name is Alessandro Palmeira.
I study Computer Science at the University of São Paulo and would like very
much to work with you this winter (not exactly freezing here in Brasil, but
still winter).
I am a long time user of Guitar Pro and when I was introduced to GNU/Linux
I didn't find a free software to use in it's place. I've tried TuxGuitar
for a while (and I still do now and then) but Guitar Pro's songbook is a
really extensive database of written music and it was hard to find some
parallel in other software. So when I saw the "Better support of Guitar Pro
import" idea I got really excited!
I got to know MuseScore last week but its interface feels very smooth and
complete. I cloned the repository and I'm working to understand the code
better and I expect to write something small and useful in the next 2 days.
This was my first contact for introducing myself but i have one question.
Trying to understand the code is an overwhelming task. Do you recommend
trying to hack something on importgtp.cpp (maybe a minor bug) without
previous knowledge or reading all the source-code in a "Breadth-First" way?
Thanks,
rulojuka
