I'm not clear on the function of the "init" tag, but assuming it means something like, "inherits some info from" or "shares some info with", that's fine. > [Side note: The entry for contrabass is also not entirely clear: > 1) it is duplicated into a "contrabass" and a "double-bass" entry, with the > same data except for the names; probably an <init> would be useful > here too. Same comment. > 2) Pitch ranges for both oscillate between a low E tuning and a (5-string?) > low B tuning.] I'm going to make up up some numbers off the top of my head, but I think the scale is probably about right. Among electric basses, 5-string models - going down to low C or B - are "relatively" common. Maybe as many as 5% of all electric basses sold today? Among acoustic basses (the term here includes "contrabass" / "double bass"), it's almost certainly less than 1% of all basses sold today that have five strings - and it's much less common to buy a new bass anyhow. Again, just making up numbers, but I'd say 80% of all acoustic basses played today are at least 30 years old; a good chunk of them are over 100. And five string basses were probably even less common then. However, it isn't *all* that unusual for owners of four-string acoustic basses to get an add-on attachment that allows the low E string to be tuned down to C or B. So in *some* sense, making low B the bottom of the range *could* make sense. But I think that's wrong. The vast majority of bassists cannot play lower than E. MuseScore should label that the bottom of the range for all basses (unless we provide presets for 5-string electrics) and if someone wants to override it, they can.
