This would seem very odd to me: the standard 6-string guitar setup would
give a totally unrealistic range for most of the instruments you quote, like
flute or violin. If nothing else, it is always possible to add to a score a
guitar instrument in tab format, write on it and then copy the notes to a
flute or violin staff.

But I strongly disagree with giving 6 guitar strings to a flute (or
whatever): it may please some guitarists, but would raise the concern of
most flutists out there...
