There has been some talk about possibly reimplementing glissandi and/or
melisma lines to better handle lines that cross system breaks.  I know we're
getting down to the wire, and just thought I'd see if there is any chance of
bringing this to some sort of closure - either getting it done (Miwarre?),
or making a definitive decision not to pursue it for 2.0.

This has never totally left my mind, but it came up for me today I just
spent the morning working on a bug involving glissandi and cross-staff
notation that I *think* stems from the same underlying design issue and
might well fix itself if the implementation of glissandi is changed to be
more spanner-like.  In particular, if the layout happens later in the
process, as it does for spanners, so we can know page offsets.

Meanwhile, I've submitted https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/pull/1439
for consideration, which at least lay outs glissandi less obviously terribly
in cross-system and cross-staff situations.
