You mean the ability to change
1/ Change instrument along a staff (which is currently possible if they are
melodic or percussion but not from one to another)
2/ The ability to change staff type along a staff (from standard to
percussion and back)
3/ The ability to change the number of lines along a staff
Correct ?
Using your example
Percussion 1: Timpani, Snare Drum, Bass Drum, Suspended Cymbal
It's possible with MuseScore 2.0.2 to have Snare Drum, Bass Drum, Suspended
Cymbal (assuming you want them on 1 line, or 5 lines)
But it's not possible to move from Timpani (pitched percussion, 5 lines) to
Snare Drum (unpitched percussion, one line).
That being said, there are workarounds, using "hide empty staves" and
instrument changes.
