Hi Everybody,

I just wanted to stop by the mailing list and introduce myself. My name's
Daniel McNeela, and I'm a student at the University of California, Berkeley
studying applied math and computer science. I'm hoping to pitch in with
MuseScore development as part of the Google Summer of Code. I've played
guitar and piano for many years, and I like to compose jazz, folk, and rock
music. I have used MuseScore quite a bit in the past for notating a number
of the compositions that I've written, so this is a project that I'm really
passionate about.

I just cloned the git repo and built from source, and I plan on
familiarizing myself with the code over the next few days. I'm able to run
musescore from the command line, but I'm unable to access it from my
applications folder in Ubuntu, so if anybody has a possible fix for that,
please let me know. Other than that, it's great to make your acquaintance
and I hope to get to know everyone further over the coming weeks!

Best,

Daniel
