Hi everyone!

My name is Alessandro Bonardi, currently a first-year Computing student at
Imperial College London. I am a keen musician who has some experience in
developing music notation software, as last year I wrote a midi roll
composing interface in VB.NET and I'm currently exporting it in C++. I have
a good knowledge of Java and C, and basic-medium of C++ and QT.

I would really be interested in working together with you this summer in
implementing a handwriting/pen input notation in MuseScore. This idea would
bring benefits to composers who own tablets and Surface devices, as it
enables them to write music more rapidly and efficiently - last year I
bought a Surface Pro 3 just to be able to compose faster. This would also
make MuseScore more popular and widespread as other platforms such as
Sibelius and Finale do not have this feature yet.

The project would be divided into two sections:
> development of a neural network - or a decision tree - to recognise the
> input note (I have experience in developing a neural network for number
> recognition with pen input in Java)
> implementing it in the score interface

Unfortunately I have not contributed to MuseScore in the past, and I hope
this will not negatively influence my application. I am however, as a
musician and programmer, extremely keen on taking part in the development of
a music notation software, and willing to work on MuseScore current issues.

Please let me know your feedback about this project.

Thank you,
Alessandro Bonardi
