Thanks Lasonic I figured it was something to do with this - the clues in the error msg lol! ok so now it complies OK but it says <http://dev-list.musescore.org/file/n7580019/Capture.png>
In the QT instructions - https://musescore.org/en/node/116991 there seems to me a missing step in the bit near the end "Finally, we have to say where the Executable can be found ......" To be able to specify a path for the executable you have to click on the Add drop-down and choose Custom executable: <http://dev-list.musescore.org/file/n7580019/Capture2.png> I put in the value: %{sourceDir}\win32install\bin\MuseScore.exe in here as per the instructions.
