Hi,

it needs a MIDI keyboard or digital piano and it is based on 3.x dev branch
(master). Recognizing notes from sound could be made with a completely
external tool, eg, an ALSA client, albeit that's a quite complex and
difficult task on its own.

As for mainline integration, the patch currently builds on PianoTutor and
its GUI (the pianotutor pane u can see on the left in the video, where I
added the AutoSync checkbox), so I guess the Arduino/LEDs stuff should be
isolated in the case. That's something I might have fun doing, if there's
interest.
