Look at any Linux distribution - you will see _everywhere_ that the home directory of any user does strictly belong to that user and to that user only - if there's a group write permission set, then the group will be _that_ user's private group. Noone else will have write permission to his files that way, except when this user decides he wants to grant it himself. He cannot though grant any different permission to his home directory proper, because /home belongs to root and has _NO_ write permission for any user!
