I was wrong, there *is* a problem with GM rotation on Windows.
On a dual boot AMD Athlon XP 3000+ machine:
win2000 Linux Opensuse 13.1
Scaling 2.9s 3.1s
Rotation+scaling, rgb mask 25s 7.2s
Rotation+scaling, mono mask 24s 6.4s
Rotation+scaling, no mask 24s 5.5s
Suspicion: GM uses multiple cores for rotating and there goes something wrong
with it on Windows. I'll ask on mailing list.
