'Select Component' shows the owner hierarchy. The purpose of 'Select Component' is navigation in forms, datamodules and submodules. For parent-child hierarchy another dialog is necessary. But I think one mostly works in the forms directly for that purpose. There is also RightClick-'Select Childwidget' in form editor.
