Hiding it in a different repository... My personal opinion is that that
is the wrong thing to do. Nobody is going to find it, and it will be
more disconnected from the actual MSEgui code it is documenting. Also
creating a "documentation release" means it will have no notion of what
MSEgui version was used to create that release. All way to disconnected.

I didn't know about that, I only knew about <trunc>/help/* - and that
just proves my previous point:
 * Totally different repository
 * way to hidden
 * no relation to what MSEgui version was used

Also to be fair, years ago (4 years in this case of MSEUniverse) it was
MUCH harder to generate documentation that it is today. You had platform
specific build scripts, huge command line parameters (MSEgui unit count
is large), exceeding the command line parameter limits of what Windows
can handle etc.

Now it's just:

   fpdoc --project=msegui-docs-project.xml

no matter what platform.
