Actually, that is exactly why I DO set the -FU for any project, and NEVER have compiled units mixed into the same directories as the *.pas files. Whenever I build any of my projects, each project has its own unit output directory that contains all compiled dependency units. I never share compiled units like what Lazarus's Package system does. I have enough hard drive space for multiple copies of compiled units. Also, each project can now have its own compiler settings, and those settings are applied to all units used in a project.
