Ummph - wouldn't a simple 'lspci | grep -E "VGA|Display"' be sufficient?
Or should this be an entry to the contest for the most obscure program?
Your program does effectively NOTHING beyond the simple command line.
Any Linux user should be familiar with this, especially if writing program
code himself.

But anyway, on my system, where I do not have the problems discussed here,
the result is:

00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI]\
Wani [Radeon R5/R6/R7 Graphics] (rev e2)

This is the integrated graphics controller of the "APU" on the board, and
it does _not_ use the "radeon" driver, but the "amdgpu" one.

(So, after all, the naming of your "function" isn't even correct, as it
does not provide this information. For that, the command line used should
rather look something like thsi:
        lspci -k | grep -A 2 -E "VGA|Display"
which produces the output
00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI]
Wani [Radeon R5/R6/R7 Graphics] (rev e2)
Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Wani [Radeon R5/R6/R7 Graphics]
        Kernel driver in use: amdgpu
on my system, specifying the driver.)
