No, they are different DB.
Embarcadero, or Borland, or whoever was in 2000, released Interbase 6 as
open source. Later it released Interbase 6.5 as proprietary software,
and never looked back to open source. Firebird was a fork of Interbase
6.0 version. Since then, the two products have diverged a lot.
