Remarking an observation I just made, there is a "mseunicode" unit
among the library files, it even has its own directory ("unicode"),
but it seems not to be used anywhere.
This unit also contains a procedure named "drawtext", suggesting
that it might have been meant as an addition, ammendment or even
replacement of the "standard" drawtext procedure of "tcanvas", which
seems to be the centerpoint for graphics and text output of msegui.
Otherwise, the text representation of msegui uses 16 bit characters,
which seem to fed rathe directly into an X11 "gdi" function on Linux
(and probabely a corresponding one on Windows as well), which might
not handle it correctly, e.g. because it is meant for UTF-8 display.
(In fact, I just tried some conversions of your ideograms with the
mseide editor, but couldn't get it to display anything recognizable,
not even UCS2 nor UTF-16 variants. It seems it, or probabely the X11
function used, just cannot handle these glyphs.)
