I just wondered about the name. I put a new file on my web site, "newmsefiledialogx.zip", containing an INTERMEDIATE TESTING version of your modified filedialogx for testing and review, and of course to uncover problems that escaped me yet. If you can find some time to look it through, please post your critique and findings for me to fix the issues. I've included - as a subdirectory - a simple and yet unfinished, but mostly functioning test project named "TextView". As the name implies, it's just a simple program to inspect text files, and meant to make use of the file dialog in this case.
