MSMON, I have been asked to provide a monitor/rule on SCOM to test RPC access to remote agent based computers to test the RPC process as recently we have had a number of machines after Microsoft Tuesday.
I have the test I want to perform and we have decided we want to perform the sc query from the customer gateways. I am struggling to say runf the query against all the machines managed by the gateway e.g. Gateway1 manages Server 01, server02, Server02 ... On the gateway run >sc \\server01<file:///\\server01> query rpcss process the output and alert on >failure when "The RPC server is unavailable" >sc \\server02<file:///\\server02> query rpcss process the output and alert on >failure when "The RPC server is unavailable" ... Please any would be appreciated.
