We have Application Analysts that oversee multiple, disparate applications. In SCOM, the majority of MPs I have authored are based on each individual applications.
Is there a way within the SCOM console to create a custom Alert View where I can select the classes from the various MPs? I'm thinking similar to the Notifications Subscriptions 'raised by an instance of a specific class', while selecting the custom classes of each application. Or is that just not really possible? My logic is if we select the classes, any additional monitors/rules will automatically be captured, whereas if I go use the 'created by specific resources' criteria, the analysts or I would have to remember to go in and manually assign any new monitors/rules to the Alert View. Is this the type of dashboard design where SquaredUp would stand out as opposed to the native console? I'm interested if others have faced a similar scenario and the solution you delivered.
