The configure script needs to find the libraries, and in cross compilation situations that sometimes requires a little help. If you have your libraries for cross compilation in the directory /cross/usr (with subdirectories lib and include), then the following should work: - With the latest release (1.4.23), you can give the configure script package-specific options. For OpenSSL, that would be ./configure --with-libssl-prefix=/cross/usr. - With the current development version, you set the environment variable PKG_CONFIG_PATH to the (list of) pkgconfig directories.
