If spammers are a concern, email addresses could be ofuscated before
publishing, or it could be uploaded as an encrypted zip with a public
password (such as the project name). There are plenty of options.

*should* be able to download it (you may want to use a separate

The actual upload to sourceforge seems be scriptable with sftp
http://sourceforge.net/projects/script-tools/ contains some code doing
that.
