I went ahead and did the move, the new home page is
<https://marlam.de/msmtp>, and the gitlab project is at
<https://gitlab.marlam.de/marlam/msmtp>.

The reason for this move is that I don't trust service providers such
as SourceForge or Github. SourceForge went evil some time ago, they try
to regain trust now, but I think it's too late. And now that Github
belongs to Microsoft it can only go downhill (I know not everybody
agrees with this...). I think the new site is at least an improvement
over SourceForge, even if it may not make everybody 100% happy.

Sadly, this also means that this mailing list will be deactivated soon.
I put an archive of it on the new website. I agree with grarpamp,
Lonnie and Francesco that a mailing list is a useful feature for open
discussions, but it is a pain to set up and maintain. I hope using the
Issues feature of gitlab also for questions, discussions and
suggestions helps to fill the gap for now (after all, there really was
almost no traffic on msmtp-users anymore). If we need something else in
the future, we can always look for alternatives.

I hope you can all live with the new arrangement and will have a look
at the new site!

Cheers,
Martin
