I see this error message.
msmtp: TLS certificate verification failed: The certificate is NOT
trusted. The certificate issuer is unknown.
msmtp used to work. But it stops working with the above message. It
may be due to the fact that I have recently upgraded my system. But I
am not sure what is the cause.
Does anybody know what could be the cause?
When I use --tls-certcheck=off, msmtp can work again. How insecure it
is to set this option to be off?
tls_certcheck [(on|off)]
Enable or disable checks of the server certificate. They
are enabled by default. Disabling them will override tls_trust_file
and
tls_fingerprint. WARNING: When the checks are disabled,
TLS sessions will not be secure!
