Thanks to some help from TI we can now provide sources and binaries for the JTAG download to MSP430 processors.
A new implementation of the library for pyjtag is available, the sources are in the CVS module "jtag" and the binaries can be found on the tools page http://mspgcc.sourceforge.net/tools.html#pyjtag on http://mspgcc.sf.net. The binaries can be copied together with jtag.py and you should be able to up- and download to your MSP430. F1x support is tested, F4x not. The binaries worked on my systems, I hope they run on your system too. And that i've said it: The clock of the target MSP430 is not verified when programming Flash. The default frequency of an unconfigured device is used. In certain conditions of voltage and temperature the flash specifications may be violated. In such a case the flash programming may be unreliable or fail completly. Have fun chris
